Workmanship:
Holsters shall be free of dust, grease, corrosion and other foreign matter.
The finished holsters shall conform to the quality of product established by
this document and as called called out in the contract or order.
Repairs of Type 301 Stitching:
Repairs of type 301 stitching shall be as follow:
a. When thread breaks or bobbins run-outs occur during stitching, the
stitching shall be repaired by restarting the stitching a minimum of 2 stitches
back of the end of stitching.
b. Thread breaks or one or more consecutive skipped or run-off stitches
noted during inspection of the item (in-process or end item) shall be repaired
by overstitching. The stitching shall start a minimum of 2 stitches in back of
the defective area, continue a minimum of 2 stitches beyond the defective area
onto the existing stitching. Loose stitching shall be repaired by removing the
defective stitching without damaging the materials and restitching in the
required manner.
c. When making the above repairs, stitches shall enter and exit previously
made neele holes.
Thread Ends:
All thread ends shall be trimmed to 1/8 inch maximum length.
Certification:
The contractor shall certify that the product offered-meets the salient charac-
teristics of this description, and that the product conforms to the producer's
own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices, and
is the same product offere for sale in the commercial marketplace. Small busi-
nesses that cannot offer products with established commercial market accept-
ability, may compete by submission of bid samples. (The Governament reserves
the rights to require proof of such conformance before first delivery and
thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under provisions of the contract.)
Packaging, Packing, and Markings:
The items shall be packaged in accordance with normal commercial practice and
packed to assure acceptance by common carrier and provide product protection
against loss and damage during multiple shipments, handling, and storage. The
shipping container shall be in compliance with national motor freight classi-
fication. Shipping container shall be markd as specified in the contract
order.
